We are delighted to award Sudbrook Cricket Club £1,000 sponsorship from our annual corporate sponsorship fund, specifically created to benefit the Monmouthshire communities that MHA serve.
The inclusive sports and social club located in the centre of Caldicot, runs cricket and football teams for a range of groups ranging from junior and senior teams including male, female and disability participation, all year round.
Kate Fitzpatrick, MHA Head of Corporate Services said:
As well as building and maintaining homes, we are very passionate about supporting the communities in which we operate. Keeping physically fit and taking part in group sport not only keeps your body healthy but can massively impact your all-round mental health and wellbeing, as well the enjoyable social aspect that comes with being part of a team.
Sudbrook Cricket Club is a fantastic community facility which we are sure will continue to thrive, benefitting both the wider community, including many MHA tenants.
In addition to their sports facilities, the not-for-profit organisation prides itself as a community meeting space for local people. They also happily share their facilities with other clubs, who work together to increase sports participation in their local community.
Chris Phillips, Main Committee Member said:
We are thrilled to have received £1,000 from MHA to help purchase both playing kit and equipment ahead of the new cricket season. We already have a network of schools that we work with each year and have ambitions to hold open days or training days through the summer to encourage participation of younger people in either cricket or football.
I have been involved in the club for around 30 years and would like to provide children the opportunities I was fortunate to have when I first joined the club as a junior. This additional money will enable the Club to continue to both fulfil it’s ambitions to expand its activities and increase participation, helping ensure the Club and it’s surrounding communities can continue to flourish.
