Digital Inclusion

The recent pandemic emphasised the importance of communicating digitally, and how quickly people can become isolated. Many of us had to adapt overnight to using Microsoft Teams, and the like to enable us to see our loved ones, work from home, order our shopping online, pay our bills and much more; our computers and phones literally became our lifeline.

We recognise not everybody has the digital skills or equipment to do this, which is how our digital inclusion project iConnect was born.

iConnect

iConnect is a digital inclusion project open to everyone who lives in Monmouthshire; it is part funded by the UK’s Government Shared Prosperity Fund.

iConnect isn’t just about getting online, it’s also about giving you the skills and confidence in the digital world. With the help of our wonderful Digital Champions, the iConnect Volunteers, we offer face-to-face support at our drop-ins sessions across the county.

iConnect offer a range of digital support including:

  • Support with using a smart phone, tablet or laptop
  • Assistance accessing emails, WhatsApp and social media
  • Gain access to online services, including bills and banking
  • Laptop loans
  • Support sourcing affordable devices and broadband deal
  • Provide free SIM cards containing data, calls and texts
  • General digital upskilling
  • Free e-learning and training opportunities
  • Opportunities to share your digital skills by becoming a digital volunteer

If you’d like digital support with any of the above,  pop into one of our weekly drop-ins below – we’re here to solve all of our digital dilemmas over a cuppa and friendly chat! We will tailor all support to you want, and help you reach your digital goals! You can also get in touch via iConnect@monmouthshirehousing.co.uk or call 0345 677 2277.
