New affordable homes unveiled in Little Mill thumbnail

We are thrilled to announce the completion of 6 new affordable homes on Greenmeadow Crescent, in the village of Little Mill.

The small development comprises 2 x two-bedroom semi-detached houses and 4 x one bedroom walk up apartments, providing tenants with their own front door at ground level and private garden.

 

Delivered by MHA’s construction subsidiary Capsel, in partnership with Monmouthshire County Council and Welsh Government, the development replaces a block of flats and garages, that had needed substantial investment and maintenance.

It has been a privilege to collaborate once again with Monmouthshire County Council, Welsh Government and Capsel, to bring these much-needed affordable homes to the community of Little Mill.

 

The homes are built for the future, enhancing biodiversity and prioritising energy efficiency, which is good news for both the tenants and environment.

 

We were delighted to have the opportunity to recently show Cllr Paul Griffiths, Cllr Tony Kear and Cllr Meirion Howells around the new homes prior to the tenants moving in and get their seal of approval.

 

We hope the tenants enjoy their first Christmas in the warmth and security of their lovely new home

The homes are constructed with timber frame and utilise sustainable methods of construction that include solar panels and air source heat pumps, avoiding the need for fossil fuels. The properties also achieve an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of A.

 

As part of MHA’s ongoing drive to make ecological considerations in the design of our homes, we have implemented habitat enhancements that include bat tubes installed into the brick gable end and nesting boxes for visiting house martins.

The development has been built to The Lifetime Homes standard, meaning the homes are designed to be more flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the occupants.
