MHA Money Wise team smash £1million financial milestone thumbnail

Our small but mighty Money Wise team have hit the significant milestone of supporting 428 individuals to maximise their income and reduce debt by £1.1million.

Over the past year, despite having to adapt to unprecedented challenges posed by the pandemic, and moving to a hybrid way of working; through sheer grit and determination, the team have supported double the amount of households than the previous year.

The Money Wise team fully understand the far-reaching impact financial stress can have on individuals and their families, and continuously strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all tenants.

All advice and support is tailored, depending on the individual’s circumstances, and can be a blend of tapping into previously unaccessed grants and funding or even adopting budgeting tips or making lifestyle changes.

Nadine Fletcher, MHA’s proud Inclusion Manager, spoke about the Money Wise team she manages:

Managing finances can be a minefield, and lots of us need that little bit of support to help get back on track. Money Wise offer an accessible, non-judgemental service, ensuring individuals receive the support they need from the very first phone call; empowering them to take control of their finances with confidence.

Their transparent and honest approach fosters trust and confidence amongst clients, ensuring they receive unbiased advice and support in navigating their financial journey.

Their deep understanding of financial principles and regulations, combined with a wealth of knowledge enables them to provide personalised support to individuals facing financial challenges.

I am super proud of the team’s dedication and commitment and blown away by this achievement.

Kath Deakin, MHA’s Head of Sustainable Communities said:

Recovering £1.1m in unclaimed income and managed debt for MHA households is testament to the team’s dedication to go above and beyond on a daily basis to help support MHA’s communities.

An amazing achievement and a stark reminder everyone needs a bit of financial support every now and again to navigate the complex world of benefits, debt and income.

The inclusion team were also finalists at the prestigious UK Institute of Money Advisors awards. Whilst they may not have taken home the top prize, I am delighted the massive contribution this small team has made in increasing the personal finances of many of our households was recognised.
